BrightHire has built a custom integration with Greenhouse Recruiting that allows users to seamlessly schedule and launch interviews, sync interview notes, and fill out Scorecards. In this article, we will cover how to:

Open Greenhouse Integration Page in BrightHire
Open the Greenhouse Integration Page in BrightHire by visiting this link. From here you can follow the instructions below to perform any necessary setup in Greenhouse and gather information to input it into the appropriate fields.
Configure User Setup Permissions in Greenhouse Recruiting
In order to enable the Greenhouse/BrightHire integration, you will need the developer permission Can manage ALL organization’s API Credentials.
Contact a Greenhouse user in your organization with Site Admin level permissions with the additional user-specific permission Can edit another user's advanced permissions to apply the API credential management permission to your account. Have the user with Site Admin level permissions edit your user account's permissions by navigating to the Configure icon > Users > Your Name)
The user with Site Admin level permissions should navigate to the Permissions panel on your user page and expand the Developer Permissions dropdown menu.
Select Can manage ALL organization’s API Credentials so that a check is in the checkbox. When finished, click Save.
Repeat as necessary for any other user that should have access to set up the integration.
Configure a BrightHire Greenhouse User
To configure a BrightHire Greenhouse User, click on the Configure icon in the upper right-hand corner. Navigate to Users on the left-hand panel, and click + New Users. Type in <company-name>@greenhouse.brighthire.ai into the email input and click Site Admin. Uncheck Send invitation email. Your settings should look like this:
Click Save. Now find the <company-name>@greenhouse.brighthire.ai user in the Users list and click on it. In the URL bar you should see a numeric id. Enter this ID into the Admin User ID input box. See below for where to find the numeric id:
Create a Harvest API Key for the Greenhouse/BrightHire Integration
To create a Harvest API key for the integration, click on the Configure icon in the upper right-hand corner. Navigate to Dev Center on the left-hand panel.
From the Dev Center page, click API Credential Management.
From the API Credential Management page, click Create New API Key to generate the API key for BrightHire.
From the Create new credential dialog box, give your API key a name and select Harvest from the Type dropdown menu. When finished, click Create.
On the Manage API Key Permissions page, select the permissions in the image below. When finished, click Update.
Your Harvest API key for the Greenhouse/BrightHire integration is created and configured. Enter this API key into the API Key input box.
Note and Provide your Greenhouse Domain
Look at your Location bar and copy and paste the URL and input it into the Host input box in the Greenhouse Integration page. The necessary information is underlined in red in the below image:
Complete your Greenhouse Integration
- Check Enabled.
- Check Enable Data Sync if you would like all of your Greenhouse Positions and Interview Kits to automatically sync to BrightHire.
- Click Save
- The Integration Status at the top should display a green checkmark. If not, there should be an error message. You can follow the instructions or contact support.
How to use the BrightHire Integration with Greenhouse
To get the most out of the BrightHire integration with Greenhouse, users should install the BrightHire Chrome Extension here.
After downloading the Chrome Extension, a new “+ BrightHire Link” option will appear when scheduling candidate interviews:
Clicking it will insert a One-Click BrightHire Link into the calendar invite:
Clicking this link in the invite will open the Interview Assistant pre-populated with all of the details needed for an Interview:
Using this link will also provide users with a quick link back to the Greenhouse Scorecard from BrightHire:
And will post a copy of the notes to the candidate’s Activity Feed:
Notes posted to the Activity Feed will be visible to the user who ran the call and admins.
The Chrome Extension also adds a “Call with BrightHire” button to Google Calendar events. This button will launch the Interview Assistant pre-populated with any relevant Greenhouse information for the interview it is associated with.
