BrightHire uses Zoom session data to support candidate fraud detection. For Zoom customers, these features rely on the BrightHire Zoom org-level notetaker app.
Note for Admins: Setup is completed by a Zoom admin. End users do not need to install anything.
Existing Customers: If your organization has already installed the app, you may only need to update or re-consent to the latest version.
Available Fraud Signal Categories:
Session metadata: basic session-level information used to understand interview context and support fraud review.
Session enrichment: additional session data used to identify potentially suspicious interview activity.
Deepfake detection: available for Zoom customers when the required ATS opt-in workflow and paperwork are in place.
This article does not cover deepfake detection. Deepfake detection is enabled through a separate workflow and does not require the Zoom app reinstall/update described here.
Session metadata does not require fraud-specific paperwork. Session enrichment requires the required legal/commercial paperwork before activation.
Enabling Fraud Signals:
If you need to update your Zoom app permissions to support these features, follow the steps below.
For a smoother experience, please make sure you start the install process from BrightHire's Zoom settings page below:
Re-install the Zoom App: Navigate to the reinstall option in your settings. (If you use the Zoom Chat Disclaimer you may not see the install button yet, but below you'll find the steps to see it).
Grant Permissions: During re-installation, ensure you check the box next to "View meeting participants' metrics." This is required to feed integrity signals to BrightHire.
If you use the Zoom Chat Disclaimer option and don't see the Install/Reinstall button:
You'll need to temporarily change the Disclaimer option to "Zoom Recording Disclaimer Dialog Box" to install the app, but after it's done you can turn in back to Chat Disclaimer:
1. On https://app.brighthire.ai/settings/zoom-notetaker, select Zoom Recording Disclaimer Dialog Box and Save.
2. Click Reinstall, finish the installation and wait until the page shows Zoom App installed.
3. Select Chat Disclaimer again and Save immediately.
4. Go to Settings → Interview Integrity → Live and turn on the Zoom session-metadata / enrichment toggles. (If you don't see the Interview Integrity tab, reach out to your CSM).
Important note: Step 2–3 briefly changes the live disclaimer. Do it outside interview hours. Confirm Chat Disclaimer is saved before leaving. Do not leave Native selected, and do not turn on 3rd-party recording.
