Email aliases allow BrightHire to recognize multiple email addresses as belonging to the same user. This is helpful if you receive interview invitations from more than one work email address or if your organization uses different email domains.
For example, if you're invited to interviews as both [email protected] and [email protected], adding one as an alias ensures BrightHire recognizes both addresses as the same user.
What it does
Adding an email alias tells BrightHire that another email address belongs to the same user, so meetings associated with either email are attributed to the same BrightHire account.
What it doesn’t do
Adding an alias does not create another BrightHire account. It simply links multiple email addresses to a single existing user.
Add an email alias
Add an alias to your own account
You can add your own email aliases from your BrightHire User Settings in BrightHire.
If you have multiple aliases, enter them in the field separated by commas.
Add an alias for another user (Site Admins)
Site Admins can also manage email aliases for other users.
Go to Configure > Users list.
Select the user you'd like to update.
Add one or more email aliases, separating each address with a comma.
Save your changes.
Organizations using SSO or SCIM
If your organization uses SSO or SCIM provisioning (such as Okta), email aliases are typically managed through your identity provider rather than directly in BrightHire, you can find more information here.
If you're unsure where aliases should be managed, check with your IT team or identity provider administrator.
Excluded users
Keep the following in mind when working with email aliases and the Excluded Users list:
If you try to add an email address that already belongs to an excluded user as an alias, BrightHire will display an error and the alias won't be added.
If you add an email alias to the Excluded Users list, BrightHire automatically excludes the primary user associated with that alias.
For more information, see the Excluded Users article.
