Overview
BrightHire's Scorecard Assistant fills out your scorecard in your ATS from the interview recording, then helps you refine it in plain language.
Works in: Greenhouse, Ashby, Workday, Lever, Gem and SmartRecruiters.
You'll find it at the top of your ATS scorecard. One click fills every question from what the candidate said in the interview. You can then open the assistant to change any answer: make it shorter, add detail, rewrite a section, or ask a question about the interview. Type your requests or speak them.
Note: Scorecard Assistant never submits for you. You review the scorecard, add your ratings and recommendation, and submit as usual.

Fill your scorecard
Open Scorecard Assistant
Open a scorecard in your ATS and Scorecard Assistant appears at the top of the form. It matches the scorecard to the right interview automatically. If it can't tell which interview you mean, it asks you to pick one.
Fill in one click
Select Fill scorecard.
Each question is answered from the interview. Anything that doesn't fit a question is summarized by topic in your scorecard's general notes field.
When it's done, you'll see Scorecard filled. Review it before submitting.
Choose the detail level
Before you fill, use the Detail control next to the button to choose how much goes into each answer:
Brief: only the most important points.
Standard: the default.
Detailed: includes examples, numbers and context.
Use your own template
By default, the scorecard is filled from BrightHire's interview notes. To fill it from one of your team's templates instead, select the template name in the Assistant and pick another.
To create or edit templates, select Manage templates… to open Template Studio.
Refine with the assistant
After filling, select Open assistant. The assistant opens in the BrightHire sidebar and shows exactly what it filled.
Ask for changes
Ask for changes in plain language. For example:
"Make Question 2 more concise and lead with the impact"
"Add more detail to the system design answer"
"Remove the availability section from the general notes"
Or pick a suggestion: Make briefer, Make more detailed, or Draft follow-up email. Changes go straight into your scorecard.
Undo any change
Every fill and edit can be undone. Select Undo this change under the assistant's latest change. Changed your mind again? Select Restore changes.
Ask about the interview
Ask anything about the interview, such as "Did the candidate lead a cross-team project?" The assistant answers from the interview's notes and transcript.
Draft a follow-up email
Ask the assistant to draft the candidate's follow-up email. Then select Copy to clipboard or Open in email to send it yourself.
Use voice input
Select the microphone icon in the assistant to dictate a request instead of typing it.
Tips
Pick a different interview or template. Before you fill, select the interview or template name in the Assistant. Turn off Only my interviews to see interviews you didn't conduct.
Change your mind after filling. If you change the detail level or template after filling, the button becomes Refill. Refill replaces what the last fill wrote and keeps anything that was in the field before it. If you've edited answers since, it asks before replacing them.
Start over. Select the eraser icon to clear every field on the scorecard, including anything you typed. You can undo a clear from the assistant.
Save a format you like. After you reshape the answers with the assistant, select Save as template to reuse that format on future scorecards.
Always review before submitting. Make sure the content accurately reflects the interview, then add your ratings and recommendation.
FAQ
Does Scorecard Assistant submit my scorecard for me?
No. It writes and updates a draft. You review it, add your ratings and recommendation, and submit the scorecard yourself.
Does it rate the candidate or make a recommendation?
No. It writes down what the candidate said, organized by question and topic. Ratings and the hiring decision stay with you.
Will filling the scorecard erase what I already wrote?
No. A fill adds its answers below anything already in a field. If the scorecard was filled before, it asks whether to replace that content or add below it. Every fill can be undone from the assistant.
Will the assistant overwrite my edits?
When you ask for a change, the assistant rewrites only the fields related to your request. If you've edited a field since the assistant last changed it, undoing that change warns you before discarding your edit. Review the scorecard before submitting.
Can I change only one part of the scorecard?
Yes. Ask for a specific change, such as "Make the answer to Question 3 shorter" or "Remove the availability section from the general notes."
Can I use voice instead of typing?
Yes. Select the microphone icon in the assistant to dictate your request.
Why did it pick a different interview, or ask me to choose one?
Scorecard Assistant matches the scorecard to the interview recorded in BrightHire. If it finds more than one match or none, it asks you to pick. In Workday and SmartRecruiters, you always pick the interview yourself. Select the interview name to change it.
Why don't I see timestamps in the answers?
Timestamps link each point to its moment in the recording. They're added in Greenhouse, Ashby and Gem when your organization has timestamps turned on. Workday, Lever and SmartRecruiters use plain-text fields, which can't hold links. A point may also have no timestamp when there's no single clear moment in the interview that it comes from.
Why don't I see Scorecard Assistant?
Check that:
The BrightHire Chrome extension is installed and you're signed in.
You're on the scorecard or feedback form itself, not the candidate profile.
Scorecard Assistant is turned on for your organization. If you're not sure, ask your BrightHire admin or contact support.
Why does it say there's nothing to fill from?
Scorecard Assistant needs a BrightHire recording of the interview with AI notes. If the recording is still being transcribed, try again in a few minutes.
