Stop Recording

To-date, over 99% of candidates have opted-in to having interviews be captured by BrightHire. If you encounter a candidate who requests not to be recorded, it's easy to stop recording during the interview.

To stop recording a BrightHire phone interview:

  • Press the three dots in the top right corner and select "Delete this recording".

Note: You do not need to call the candidate back or spin up a new phone call, simply continue the conversation and none of it will be recorded.

If you choose to stop recording at any point during your interview, the entire audio and transcript from the conversation will be erased, including the audio and transcript up to that point. (You can’t start, stop, and then resume recording a single call.)

To help prevent wiping a recording by accident, you’ll have to confirm your decision by clicking the checkbox and selecting "Delete Recording" in the pop-up window:

Once a recording has been canceled during a phone interview, you will still be able to add topics and notes in the Interview Assistant as you would normally, but there will be no recording or transcript of the interview.

To stop recording in a BrightHire interview being recorded with the Zoom Notetaker bot:

Click on the three dots in the top right of the BrightHire Zoom participant. Click "Remove."

This will delete the entire recording, not just the portion after the Notetaker leaves.

Once a recording has been stopped, you will still be able to add topics and notes in the Interview Assistant as you would normally, but there will be no recording or transcript of the interview.

If you would like to pause interview capture and resume later, you can select "Put in Waiting Room." When you are ready to resume recording, admit the bot back in from the waiting room. (Note: The Zoom waiting room has to be on for this to work.)

To stop the recording in a BrightHire Zoom interview:

Use the stop button in the top left of the Zoom or in the control window.

This will stop the recording, and everything until this point will be imported into BrightHire. If you need a recording deleted that has already been imported, contact your internal admin or reach out using our support chat!

To stop recording in a BrightHire Google Meet Interview:

Kick the BrightHire Notetaker out of the meeting by hovering over the Notetaker's cell and pressing "Remove BrightHire Notetaker from the call."

IMPORTANT: Do NOT check the box below that says "Fill out an abuse report." Simply press "Remove."
