The latest BrightHire extension update was automatically turned off in Chrome for some users. Nothing is broken, and it only takes one click to turn it back on. This impacts the "interview with BrightHire" button and the ability to interact with the side panel in the ATS. This does not impact recording.
Why this happened: We added a new permission to the extension to support our new Oracle ATS integration. Chrome automatically turns an extension off until each user approves new permissions. For organizations, which doesn't use Oracle, that meant the "Interview with BrightHire" button, autofill and the side panel stopped working until users re-enabled the extension. Recording wasn't affected.
To turn the BrightHire extension back on:
Click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome’s toolbar, or the menu icon in the top-right corner. You’ll see a notice that BrightHire was disabled because it needs new permissions.
Click the notice, then select Re-enable or Accept permissions.
You can also reinstall it from this link BrightHire Chrome Extension
If your company installs BrightHire through IT, you shouldn't need to do anything. If it’s still turned off, please ask your IT admin to approve the update.
