Autofill Assistant for ATS

Use the Autofill Assistant to Complete and Refine Scorecards

Written by Jennifer Steinker

Overview

The Autofill Assistant helps you complete scorecards in your ATS, such as Greenhouse, using your interview recording.

It gives you more than a one-time autofill. The Assistant stays available as you work, so you can autofill your scorecard and then ask for changes in plain language. For example, you can ask it to make answers shorter, add more detail, or remove a section you don’t need.

You can type your requests or use the microphone to speak them.

Key Capabilities

Floating Assistant panel

The Assistant appears as a floating bar on your scorecard and stays visible as you scroll. That means it’s always nearby when you want to autofill or make an update.

Autofill your scorecard

Select Autofill scorecard to create a draft from the interview recording. You can also ask the Assistant to autofill in the chat.

Refine your notes

Once your scorecard is filled, ask the Assistant to make changes. For example, you can ask it to make everything briefer, add detail to a response, or remove a topic from your notes.

Voice input

Select the microphone icon to dictate your request instead of typing it.

Using the Autofill Assistant

1. Open a scorecard

Open the candidate’s interview kit in your ATS and go to the Scorecard tab.

The Autofill Assistant appears near the bottom of the page. It shows the interview and template you’re using, along with the Autofill scorecard button and quick actions like Make briefer, Make more detailed, and Draft summary.

The Assistant stays visible while you scroll through the scorecard, including interview questions, attributes, and recommendation sections.

2. Run autofill

Select Autofill scorecard, or ask the Assistant to autofill in the chat.

The Assistant creates a draft using the interview recording. It fills in scorecard answers and general notes with the key details from the conversation. Where available, it includes timestamps so you can quickly find the relevant moment in the recording.

3. Iterate with the agent

If the draft needs adjustment, ask the Assistant to revise it.

You can select Make briefer or type a request such as, “Make the key takeaways shorter.” The Assistant updates the relevant responses while keeping the main points and timestamps when possible.

It’ll confirm what it changed in the chat.

4. Request specific changes (typed or spoken)

Ask for specific updates in your own words. You can type your request or select the microphone icon to dictate it.

For example, you might say: “I don’t need the AI usage section in General notes. Please remove it.”

The Assistant updates only the relevant content and confirms the change in the chat. Keep iterating until the scorecard reflects your interview feedback.

The Assistant confirms each update in the chat, such as: “Updated 1 answer: removed the AI usage section from General notes.”

Keep making changes until the scorecard reflects your feedback. When you’re ready to review, close the chat to clear some space. Your generated notes are organized under clear headings, such as Recent work, Product and users, and Stakeholder communication, with bullet points and timestamps that link back to the recording.

Tips

Draft a summary quickly

  • Select Draft summary to create an overall interview summary without typing a request.

Change the template or interview

  • Select Change template or Change interview from the Assistant bar if you need to use a different scorecard template or interview session.

Dismiss the chat anytime

  • Close the chat when you want to focus on reviewing your scorecard. The floating Assistant bar stays available if you want to make more updates later.

Before submitting, review the generated content to make sure it accurately reflects your interview.

FAQ:

Does the Autofill Assistant submit my scorecard for me?

No. The Assistant creates and updates a draft, but you’re still responsible for reviewing the content and submitting the scorecard.

Can I use the Assistant without autofilling first?

Yes. You can use Draft summary or ask the Assistant to make changes to existing scorecard content. Autofill is simply a quick way to generate a first draft from the interview recording.

Can I ask the Assistant to change only one part of the scorecard?

Yes. Ask for a specific change, such as “Make the answer to this question shorter” or “Remove the AI usage section from General notes.” The Assistant will update the relevant content where possible.

Will the Assistant overwrite my edits?

The Assistant updates the content related to your request. Review the changes before submitting, especially if you’ve made manual edits to the same section.

Can I use voice instead of typing?

Yes. Select the microphone icon in the Assistant to dictate your request. Your spoken request will be converted to text and processed like a typed message.

Why don’t I see the Autofill Assistant?

Please confirm you have the BrightHire Chrome Extension installed?

Why didn’t the Assistant add timestamps?

Timestamps are included when the Assistant can connect a note to a specific moment in the interview recording. Some generated content may not have a timestamp if there isn’t a clear matching moment.

Can I change the interview or scorecard template?

Yes. Select Change interview or Change template from the Assistant bar before you run autofill.
