In Meeting Cancel Recording Link

Cancel a BrightHire recording directly from the meeting chat.

When enabled, the BrightHire bot will automatically post a Cancel Recording link in the meeting chat each time a new participant joins. This ensures that all attendees have visibility and can take action if needed.

How It Works

When this setting is turned on:

  1. The BrightHire Notetaker joins the meeting as usual.

  2. Each time a new participant enters the meeting, the bot posts a message in the chat that includes a Cancel Recording link.

  3. Clicking the link opens a confirmation page.

  4. From that page, the user can choose to remove the bot from the meeting.

  5. Once removed:

    • The recording stops immediately.

    • No recording artifacts are retained in BrightHire.

What Happens After Canceling?

If a participant chooses to cancel the recording:

  • The bot is removed from the meeting.

  • The interview is not processed.

  • No notes, transcript, audio, or video will be saved in BrightHire.

This provides an immediate and visible way for participants to opt out during the interview.

Default Setting

  • This setting is OFF by default for all existing customers.

  • Admins must manually enable it if they would like to use this feature.

How to Enable the Cancel Recording Link

Permission Required: Site Admin

  1. Navigate to BrightHire Settings > Video Conferencing

    1. Zoom

    2. Google Meet

    3. Teams

  2. Toggle ON the Send Cancel Recording Link in Chat setting.

  3. Save.

In-Meeting Experience

When enabled, the bot’s message will appear directly in the meeting chat.

Example:

BrightHire is recording this meeting.
If you’d like to cancel the recording, click - Cancel Recording

Clicking the link opens a confirmation page where users can remove the bot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can click the cancel link?
Any meeting participant who sees the chat message can click the link and remove the bot.

Does this apply to Zoom?
Yes, this functionality is also available in Zoom

Will this automatically notify admins?
No additional notification is sent, but the meeting will not be processed if the recording is canceled.
